Attractors for Differential Equations with Variable Delays
The theory of global attractors for autonomous systems as developed by Hale in [7] owes much to examples arising in the study of retarded functional differential equations [8] (for slightly different approaches see Babin and Vishik [1], Ladyzhenskaya [13], or Temam [16]). Although the classical theory can be extended in a relatively straightforward manner to deal with time-periodic equations, g...
متن کاملFixed points and stability in differential equations with variable delays
In this paperwe consider a linear scalar differential equationwith variable delays andgive conditions to ensure that the zero solution is asymptotically stable bymeans of fixedpoint theory. These conditions do not require the boundedness of delays, nor do they ask for a fixed sign on the coefficient functions. An asymptotic stability theorem with a necessary and sufficient condition is proved. 2...

متن کاملStability criteria of stochastic partial differential equations with variable delays∗
Abstract. Some criteria for the asymptotic stability of nonlinear stochastic partial differential equations with variable delays are presented. A coercivity condition plays the role of an exponential stability criterion. Consequently, under the coercivity condition almost all the trajectories of the nonstationary solutions of the given stochastic system finally tend exponentially to zero. Two e...
متن کاملGlobal Attractivity in Nonlinear Delay Difference Equations
We obtain a set of sufficient conditions under which all positive solutions of the nonlinear delay difference equation x„+l = x„f(xn_k), n = 0,1,2,..., are attracted to the positive equilibrium of the equation. Our result applies, for example, to the delay logistic model JVI+i = aN¡/(\ +ßNt_k) and to the delay difference equation xn+i = x„er^~x"-k'1 .
